Florida Department of Health in Calhoun County Healthy Start program provides services to women who are pregnant and children birth to three years old.  Healthy Start is a voluntary program that is available to anyone.

Services provided are:                                                                                                                                          
  •  Breastfeeding education and support                                                                         
  •  Childbirth classes                                                                                                    
  •  Family planning education
  •  Parenting support and education
  • Help to stop smoking
  • Assistance with issues related to medical insurance (Medicaid)
  •  Car seat safety classes and car seats when available

All women should be screened for Healthy Start services at their first doctor’s visit, and if they are not, they should request a screen If a woman qualifies, the program can help improve the quality of her pregnancy and help her enjoy and celebrate this special time in her life.
