BOARD MEMBERS:

     Aaron Nelson, MS, AT/L, ATC, Chair
 
        His education includes a Bachelor of
Science Degree from Iowa State University  and a Masters Degree from California University at Pennsylvania.   
 
Aaron is in his 12th Season as the Head Athletic Trainer of the Phoenix Suns. Prior to his promotion, he served as the assistant athletic trainer 1993-2000.He served as the athletic trainer for the USA Basketball Men's Select Team that helped prepare the 2007 USA Senior National Team for the FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas. He spent the spring 1993 semester as a graduate assistant at Arizona State University and in the summer of 2004, he completed a two-week volunteer internship with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) in the sports medicine department at the Olympic training facility in Chula Vista, California, working primarily with track and field and Paralympics athletes. Aaron served as the athletic trainer for the 2007 and 2008 NBA All-Star games.
 
 In addition to serving on the Board, Aaron is a Member of the National Athletics Association (NATA), a Member of the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association (AZATA) and a Member of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association (NBATA). He also serves on the Advisory Board for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). In 2008-2009 Aaron was the Joe O'Toole, NBA Athletic Trainer of the Year.
 
Aaron lives in Chandler, AZ with his wife Jessica, sons Andrew and Logan, and daughter, Emma.
 
Eric A. Freas, ATC, Vice Chair

His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Northern Arizona University with an emphasis in Athletic Training.

Eric is the Head Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director and a teacher at Coconino High School in Flagstaff Arizona. He started his career as Head Athletic Trainer at Deer Valley High School in Glendale Arizona for the 93-94 school year. In the fall of 1994 he accepted the Head Athletic Trainer position at Coconino High School in Flagstaff Arizona.

In addition to serving on the Board, Eric is a member of the Exam Development Committee for the Board of Certification (BOC), an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Northern Arizona University and an Approved Clinical Instructor for the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). In the past he has been the Test Site Administrator for the BOC, the Chairman for the Awards and Scholarships Committee for the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association (AZATA),The Chairman of the Placement Committee for the AZATA and a panelist for role delineation for the NATA.

Eric lives with his wife Theresa, son Crosby and labradoodle Sydney in Flagstaff Arizona

Jennifer L. Fadeley, Public Board Member
 Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a Minor in Psychology from Gonzaga University.She is currently working on her Master of Arts Degree in Leadership and Management from Liberty University with an expected completion date in August 2012.
Jennifer is Deputy Personal Officer for the Arizona Army National Guard focusing on improving processes for promotions, separations and retirements. She has been with the U.S. Army for over 16 years. 
Jennifer lives with her husband in Phoenix Arizona where they are raising their two daughters. 
Harold E. Callihan, Public Board Member
  His education includes a a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Michigan University and a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Utah.
Harry was an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Utah and an assistant athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers Professional Football Team. He spent 28 years as Head Athletic Trainer  at University of California, Santa Barbara where he retired in 1984.
In addition to serving on the Board, Harry has been a Member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association for over 35 years where he served on several advisory committees. He served as an athletic trainer for the 1980 Jr Olympic Track and Field team at the Games held in Canada and head athletic trainer for the 1984 USA - Russia Heptathlon Decathlon track meet hosted at UC Santa Barbara. Harry has been elected to the Santa Barbara Athletic Roundtable Hall of Fame and the UCSB Athletic Hall of Fame where the UC Santa Barbara Men’s Basketball Team retired a Jersey in his honor. The new training facility at UC Santa Barbara "The Harry Callihan Training Facility.
Harry lives in Chandler Arizona his wife Clare, where they enjoy family time 5 children and 4 grandchildren. In their spare time, they fly their hot air ballon and enjoy taking it to events across Arizona and the Western US.
