Our training programs focus on certifying students for upward career progression. The students learn through demonstrations, lab exercises, lectures, exams, study groups, guest speakers, work-based learning (WBL) sites, and individualized learning sessions. The CTT instructors work with students to ensure that they are implementing and embellishing the eight Career Success Standards to help them become employable, well-rounded adults.

Career Counselors

Career counselors assist our students with their progress at Gerald R. Ford Job Corps. Each student is assigned a career counselor based on the student’s choice of career technical training.

Counselors help students with creating long and short term goals. They also assist students with any leave requests, weekend passes, day passes, scheduling issues, and academic concerns. Students can also receive assistance from counselors regarding clothing trips, secretary of state trips, group and individual counseling sessions, and emotional and social support.

The counselors work with students by recommending them for career transitional services (CTS) upon their completion of career technical training, academic training, driver’s education, and the CTS Workshop.
