You might want to consider an apprenticeship in public safety. You can train to be a firefighter, police officer, fire/medic, or other public safety professional.

Apprentices in a Fire Safety program don’t just learn to fight fires – they also receive an Associate of Arts and Sciences Transfer degree. With this degree, an apprentice can go on to finish a Bachelor’s degree at a four-year college – or move right into a firefighting career.

Other opportunities in public safety include… working as a border control guard; helping to secure our nation’s bio-defenses; or responding to natural disasters and emergencies. Public safety workers need top-notch skills, and an apprenticeship is a great way to gain these skills!
