Educator preparation in Georgia is changing to ensure teachers and principals are ready on day one of their careers. Today’s work environment expects more of students than ever before; therefore, teachers and leaders must be better prepared to help them achieve at higher levels. As a starting point in this transformation, the policies that influence preparation and entry into the education profession are being changed. The reforms described below are aimed at raising the bar so that new teachers and leaders are ready for the challenges inherent in realizing the promises of our PK-12 reforms.
