I-15:
Base Line Road Interchange, Rancho Cucamonga/Fontana
The City of Rancho Cucamonga, in partnership with Caltrans, the City of Fontana and the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) will construct improvements to the Interstate 15 (I-15)/Base Line Road interchange. The project is located within the City of Rancho Cucamonga (west of the I-15) and the City of Fontana (east of the I-15) in San Bernardino County. Construction is slated to begin in Summer 2014 and continue through mid-2016.
The purpose of this project is to:
- Alleviate congestion
- Improve safety
- Improve mobility throughout the project corridor
The project will include the following:
- Widening Base Line Road from 4 to 6 lanes
- Adding right and left turn lanes at East Avenue
- Widening East Avenue from 2 to 4 lanes
- Adding right and left turn lanes at Base Line Road
- Realigning and widening the southbound and northbound diamond ramps from 1 to 2 lanes
- Adding a southbound loop on-ramp
- Adding I-15 acceleration and deceleration lanes
