Finance Branch
The Finance Branch manages four program areas: Financial Services; Grants and Local Aid; Procurement and the VDFP Bookstore.
Financial Services
Financial Services includes pre-auditing, processing, reporting, and analysis services for Accounts Payable – General (vendor payments), Accounts Payable – Employee (payroll, travel reimbursement, moving and relocation), Accounts Payable – Special (Small Purchase Charge Card statement processing), Accounts Receivables (cash receipting and depositing, receivables collections, receivables aging, and reconciliations), and Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Financial Reconciliations, Analysis, and Reporting. Additional services provided by Financial Services include Agency budget development, management, analysis, and reporting. Financial Services will be expanding its services in the coming months to include controls and risk analysis internal audits to ensure compliance with Agency Risk Management and Internal Controls Standards (ARMICS).
Bookstore Operations includes the receiving and fulfilling of merchandise orders (invoice generation/modification), order handling and shipping, and special orders. Call for additional information.
Grants and Local Aid manages all the financial assistance programs in the agency. Programs include Aid to Localities Entitlement Program; Burn Building Grants; Technology Grants; Virginia Fire Service Board Mini Grants, Conference and Education Assistance; Be Safe Fire Grants; Emergency Fund Grants; Get Alarmed Virginia; Home Safe home, Virginia!; and Virginia Dry Hydrant Grants.
