Acquisition Analysis and Review

Overview
The Department of Defense (DoD) maintains a complex set of laws, regulations and policies with which new or modified acquisition programs and initiatives must comply. HRM Acquisition Analysis and Review provides the overarching support and guidance to ensure compliance and to address and implement the programs and systems to sustain DoD HRM business needs. As part of the DoD acquisition process, HRM Acquisition encompasses the review and analysis of all policy and documentation submissions relative to HRM Major Automated Information Systems (MAIS).

HRM Acquisition Analysis and Review provides acquisition management support to programs requiring assistance in developing documentation in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements. It also provides subject matter expertise, coordination, and administrative assistance which support HRM acquisition initiatives and programs through the HRM Investment Review Board (IRB), Defense Business Systems Management Committee (DBSMC), Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer (ODCMO) and Milestone Decision Authorities (MDAs).

P&R; IM's Expertise
P&R; IM executes Information Management (IM) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) responsibilities, including provision of acquisition guidance and support to the Principal Staff Assistant (PSA), and analysis of documentation submissions for IRB certification and subsequent DBSMC approval. In support of the DoD Acquisition System (DAS) process, P&R; IM reviews and analyzes policy and documentation submissions relative to MAIS, and provides guidance and requisite HRM program documentation to ensure statutory and regulatory requirements compliance. Specifically, P&R; IM supports the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and the Defense Acquisition System (DAS) by reviewing selected acquisition documents for HRM managed and partner initiatives.

P&R IM provides leadership and expertise to the relevant Overarching Integrated Product Teams and related acquisition forums, and contributes to various other acquisition working groups, facilitating assistance planning and acquisition/modernization preparations.
