Academics
In addition to career training, Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.
GED/High School Diploma
One of our top goals at Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Hubert H. Humphrey can enroll in our GED school program. Students may also participate in our high school diploma program which is paid for by the center.
EL Program
Students needing to learn English can enter our English Learning (EL) program. Students in the EL program are tested regularly to determine their language proficiency levels.
Driver's Education
Driver's Education is available to all of our students needing a driver's license.
Advanced Career Training
Our students have the opportunity to attend college through our center's Advanced Career Training (ACT) program. To be eligible for the ACT program, a student must have been at our center for at least six months, have completed a career technical training program, and earned a GED or high school diploma. Our center offers a wide range of advanced diploma, certificate, and associate's degree programs through the following colleges:
- Minneapolis Community and Technical College
- St. Paul Technical College
- Century College
