THE SELF-HELP CENTER PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN CIVIL MATTERS ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE:

Small Claims

Small Claims Clinics are held on Tuesdays from 3 pm-5 pm in room 305 on the third floor of the Eureka courthouse.  Assistance is offered individually on a walk-in basis, first come, first serve. This clinic is for those who need assistance with small claims procedures and with small claims paperwork. This is also a clinic for those who already have a small claims judgment and are seeking to enforce it.

Unlawful Detainer

Unlawful Detainer Clinics are held on Fridays from 8 am to 10:30 am in room 305 on the third floor of the Eureka courthouse. Assistance is offered individually on a walk-in basis, first come, first serve. This clinic is for those who need assistance with either requesting or responding to unlawful detainer assistance.


Restraining Orders

Assistance with all types of restraining orders is offered individually on a walk-in basis, first come, first serve, during Self help Center hours devoted to restraining orders. The hours for service are different every day. A list of Self-Help Center hours is available in the Court Clerk's Office and in the Self-Help Center. You may contact the Self-Help Center directly with specific questions on Tuesdays between 10 am and 12 noon at 707-269-1223.


Name Changes

If you need assistance with paperwork requesting changing your name you may come to the Self-Help Center during hours devoted to Civil Matters. The hours for service are different every day. A list of Self-Help Center hours is available in the Court Clerk's Office and in the Self-Help Center. You may contact the Self-Help Center directly with specific questions on Tuesdays between 10 am and 12 noon at 707-269-1223.


Consumer Debt Collection Lawsuits

If you need assistance responding to a consumer debt collection lawsuit, please contact the Self-Help Center by phone on Tuesdays between 10 am and 12 noon at 707-269-1223 or come to the Self-Help Center during hours devoted to Civil Matters. The hours for service are different every day. A list of Self-Help Center hours is available in the Court Clerk's Office and in the Self-Help Center.


Guardianships

Assistance is available for various types of guardianship matters, including petitions for temporary and/or permanent guardianship, petitions to terminate guardianships and objections to guardianships. Assistance with guardianships is offered by appointment only. To make an appointment, please contact the Self-Help Center by phone on Tuesdays between 10 am and 12 noon at 707-269-1223 or come to the Self-Help Center during our normal business hours.
