Benefits
Pay and Allowances
Job Corps pays each student a living allowance twice a month while in the program. But just like a real job, taxes are deducted from this allowance.
Housing
Our center can house 145 male students and 120 female students in several dormitories. Each dormitory has bathroom and shower facilities, laundry facilities, TV rooms, lounges, and vending machines.
Meals
Our students are provided three nutritious meals each day at no cost in one of the best cafeteria facilities in Job Corps.
Wellness Center
The Health & Wellness center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Basic medical, dental, and mental health services are provided at no cost to our students. Walk-In hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. All others are seen by appointment or through the instructor’s emergent referral and the Health & Wellness center’s triage process.
The Health & Wellness center also provides classes on weight management, smoking cessation, STD and pregnancy prevention. Other health related programs are also available.
The Health & Wellness center also provides assistance with applying for the San Bernardino County Medi-Cal insurance. Please keep in mind that specialty services such as Orthopedic, Orthodontic (braces) and long term therapy or drug treatment, are not available through the center and only available through your insurance.
Graduate Benefits
As a Job Corps graduate, you will have a positive outlook and be qualified and prepared for today's professional workplace. Additional graduate benefits include transitional resources, referrals and access to on-center resource fairs and hiring events.
