From September 27-29, CLDP hosted a Workshop on Anti-Corruption: Government Ethics, Transparency, and Corporate Compliance in Kiev, Ukraine for 70 Ukrainian business leaders and government officials. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, General Counsel Kelly Welsh, Deputy General Counsel Josh Berman, and U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch all spoke during the workshop.
On February 9-13, 2016 in Manama, CLDP hosted the 6th Annual Middle East Vis Pre-Moot, in coordination with Bahrain Center of Disputes and Resolutions (BCDR), the Royal University for Women, Mena Chambers, and the University of Pittsburg (CILE).
On August 22-26, 2016, CLDP and the International Trade Administration (ITA) collaborated with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department to hold a consultation for senior officials from the Pakistan Federal Board of Revenue and the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Secretary Pritzker highlighted CLDP’s work in Tunisia in her keynote address at the Investment and Entrepreneurship Conference in Tunis on March 6. CLDP’s recent work on franchising, franchise finance, and public procurement were given as examples of Commerce programs “aimed at deepening the partnership between our nations.”
In February 2016, CLDP organized a workshop in London, UK on exploration and production (E&P) contracting for senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources (MPNR) and the Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd. (OGDCL).
On August 9, 2016, CLDP led a Workshop on Best Practices in Government Procurement in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
On September 12-16, CLDP conducted a week-long regional workshop on Cross Border Management in Ho Chi Minh City in partnership with the General Department of Vietnam Customs and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
