fair exhibit hallBlue Ribbon Memories: Your History of the NC State Fair is an online exhibit created by the State Library of North Carolina that features digitized North Carolina State Fair materials like premium lists, programs, and other memorabilia. Fairgoers can contribute their Fair memories to an online archive for all to read, documenting the rich contribution that the State Fair has made to North Carolina over its 150+ years.

Most of the digitized materials in this online exhibit are from the State Library's collection. However the exhibit also features items graciously donated or loaned by area institutions like the Burke and Henderson County Cooperative Extension Centers, and the libraries at Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Special thanks also goes to the Carolina Digital Library and Archives, the staff in the North Carolina State Fair press office, Richard Barton, Paul Blankinship, Kim Cumber, Brian Dietz, Aisha Harvey, Cheryl Thomas, and Jason Tomberlin for their assistance on this project.

The digitization of this content was made possible through an LSTA-funded Access to State Government Information Initiative grant, administered by the Digital Information Management Program at the State Library of North Carolina (SLNC).
