The mission of JTF-CS is to provide command and control for Department of Defense (DoD) forces deployed in support of the lead federal agency (LFA) managing the consequences of a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive (CBRNE) incident in the United States, its territories and possessions in order to save lives, prevent injury and provide temporary critical life support.

U.S. Army Technical Escort Unit (TEU) - now part of Guardian Brigade
The Tech Escort missions include worldwide response for escorting, packaging, detection, and monitoring, rendering-safe, disposing, sampling, mitigating hazards and identifying weaponized and non-weaponized chemical, biological and hazardous material.
Chemical Biological Rapid Reponse Team (CB-RRT), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD - now part of Guardian Brigade
The mission of the CB-RRT is: On order, deploy and establish a robust and integrated capability to coordinate and synchronize DoD's technical assistance (medical and non-medical) to support the Lead Federal Agency in both the Crisis and Consequence Management of a WMD incident or designated National Security Special Event. - The National Strike Force (NSF) is a vital national asset comprised of a unique, highly trained cadre of Coast Guard professionals who maintain and rapidly deploy with specialized equipment and incident management skills. The NSF is recognized worldwide as experts in preparedness and response to mitigate the effects of oil discharges and hazardous substance releases. Our mandate is to assist and support Federal On-Scene Coordinators and Coast Guard Incident Commanders in their response and preparedness activities.

Unless federalized, the CSTs will remain state National Guard assets that can be quickly accessed by proximate governors."

The ARU-CM is being formed to respond to Department of Defense (DoD) consequence management (CM) operations related to domestic and overseas incidents involving weapons of mass destruction using Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) materials.
Air Force Rescue Coordination Center (AFRCC)
The single point of contact for the coordination of federal resources involved in search and rescue (SAR) missions in all 48 Continental United States (CONUS), and in some cases, provides mutual assistance to Canada and Mexico.
Air Force National Security Emergency Preparedness Agency (AFNSEP)

- Noble Training Center, Dept of Homeland Security, Ft. McClellan, AL
Noble Training Center is unique in that it is the only hospital facility in the U.S. devoted entirely to medical training for Weapons of Mass Destruction. It is also co-located at Ft.McClellan with the Center for Domestic Preparedness operated by the Department of Justice and which provides training courses for first responders and others. Also operated by the Center for Domestic Preparedness is a live chemical agent training facility where students wearing protective clothing and masks work in an area where sarin and VX nerve agents are released under stringently controlled conditions. It is the only facility of its type in the nation for civilian training.
