COL Morris L. Bodrick
COL Morris L. Bodrick assumed command of the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) August 14, 2015. At this post, he is responsible for the Defense Department'’s lead test center for automotive, Soldier systems, transportability, survivability and lethality testing, offering world-class training, modeling, simulation and experimentation capabilities to ensure Soldier systems are safe, suitable and effective.
COL Bodrick was commissioned as second lieutenant in Army’s Ordnance Corps in 1989 upon completion of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University, a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Air War College, and two Master of Arts in Public Administration and in Management from Webster University. His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course, the Army Command and General Staff College, and the Defense Systems Management College Program Manager’s Course. He is Defense Acquisition Level III certified in Program Management and Level II certified in Logistics.
Most recently Colonel Bodrick was assigned as Director, Assistant Secretary of Army (Acquisition Logistics & Technology (ASA (ALT)) – Forward at the Pentagon, with duty in Afghanistan. He has served as Platoon Leader, Ammunition Accountable Officer, Battalion Ammunition Officer, Ammunition Control Officer, and Battalion S3 - Operations Officer. His operational units include the 189th Maintenance Battalion, 46th Corps Support Group, and 264th Corps Support Battalion (Forward) at Fort Bragg North Carolina. In 1995, he commanded the 65th Ordnance Company, 6th Ordnance Battalion at Camp Page, Korea. After command, COL Bodrick served as an instructor for the Ordnance Officer, Advanced and Warrant Officer Course at the Ordnance Brigade/Ordnance Munitions and Electronics Maintenance School, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
Since 1998 Colonel Bodrick has served in a variety of acquisition assignments to include: Deputy Director, Technical Center, U.S. Army Space Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, and Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Product Manager, PAC-3 Missile, Lower Tier Project Office, PEO Missiles and Space; Division Chief, Future Systems Integration, Combined Arms Support Command Headquarters, Fort Lee, Virginia; Assistant Product Manager (APM) Javelin Fielding, Close Combat Weapon Systems Project Office, APM Test, NLOS-LS Project Office, Test and Evaluation Officer for Army Test and Evaluation Command, Alexandria Virginia; APM Stinger Based Systems, THAAD Battle Manager and APM THAAD Launcher.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Non-Article 5 NATO Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Airborne Badge.
