OUR MISSION: Warfighting is first. Our job is to provide flexible, on-scene carrier airborne command and control for joint and combined forces worldwide in order to ensure stability, build on our relationships with allies and partners, provide our Nation’s leaders with options in times of crisis, and if necessary, win conflicts.
In order to successfully accomplish our mission, we must strike the optimum balance between my four pillars:
• PEOPLE: Ready Sailors and Families remain the foundation of the Navy’s warfighting capability. People are our number one resource for mission accomplishment. SCREWTOP’s successes are dependent on a team effort. Take care of yourself, your family, and each other. Hard work is the driving force behind the squadron’s success. What gives the United States Navy the edge, what sets us apart from the world, are the people who wear the uniform, fly and work on the aircraft that allow us to perform our mission.
• PLANES: We pride ourselves in having the best Hawkeyes on the flight line. When the Navy calls on us to perform, we must be ready to go! Be a good steward of our national assets, take pride in these machines we care for, and treat them like your own prized possessions.
• PROGRAMS: Take ownership of our programs; make every program the best in the Navy. This includes knowing your program, being up to date on all the instructions that govern your program, and being able to answer any questions from your chain of command. Efficient programs make an efficient squadron.
• PERFORMANCE: Be confident and strive for excellence in everything you do. Without a commitment to excellence, we will fall short of supporting the mission. As professional warfighters, we should endeavor to maintain the highest personal standards in all that we do. We need to work together effectively harnessing our diverse talent base in order to focus on being ready to get the job done anytime, anywhere.
As SCREWTOPs, we are all part of an amazing legacy. Across the Navy, the SCREWTOP is synonymous with tactical excellence. It is incumbent on you to uphold the high standards that have become the hallmark of this warfighting unit by doing it right and safely the first time, every time!
