How do I sign up to take the test?
-
In order to sit for the test, you must first fill out an application/fee and submit it for processing. Once your application has been processed you will receive a letter that you are ok to take the test. Only then can you sit for the test. You will need to make an appointment to take the test in Topeka (M-F, 9AM-2PM) or you can register for one of our regional testing sites in the spring.

The policy of the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office is that you are not eligible to sit for the test until the application and fee have been processed. However, mistakes can happen and you may be inadvertently allowed to sit for the test. If this is the case, that test is considered invalid and will not be scored. You will need to apply and take the test again.
