Electronic Data Capture

Electronic Data Capture (EDC) is part of a Clinical Research Data Management System (CRDMS) and is used in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to collect data from clinical trials; however, EDC-CRDMS may also be used for non-FDA regulated studies.

EDC-CRDMS is comprised of two products, Oracle® (Phase Forward) InForm™ GTM and Clintrial™. The acquisition of these products within USAMRMC will provide many of the same advantages that have prompted many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to adopt EDC-CRDMS technology.

EDC-CRDMS Will:

  • Streamline the conduct of clinical trials
  • Enhance regulatory compliance
  • Support the use of electronic standards
  • Provide staff and management with greater visibility of the clinical trial progress
  • Simplify the preparation of reports and publications
  • Lead to greater command-wide efficiencies in the conduct of clinical trials
  • Has been approved for Full Operational Capability (FOC)

EDC-CRDMS is now in Production. The system received a Certificate of Networthiness (CoN) in November 2012. The CoN allows for the release of EDC to the DoD network. The system is now available for use for anyone with an account and an internet connection. For more information please contact us at usarmy.detrick.medcom-usamrmc.other.eit-pmo@mail.mil.
