Key Logistics Activities

VISION:

We are a cohesive, people-oriented, rapid-response, jointly coordinated program, focused on new technologies, organized and coordinated to efficiently provide effective capabilities to Warfighters and customers.

FOCUS:

The MRAP Logistics Team is responsible for all aspects of planning and coordinating life cycle logistics for the MRAP Family of Vehicles (FoV). From the inception of this program, the Logistics community has been focused on the establishment and sustainment of a high level of readiness for MRAPs.

While the fielded MRAP vehicle population has grown from a few hundred to thousands of vehicles, the readiness rate of the MRAPs delivered to operating units has consistently remained at or above 90%. The rapid fielding of MRAP vehicles, combined with the relatively large number of manufacturers and corresponding vehicle types and variants, have increased the complexities and challenges of sustaining MRAPs. Key activities being addressed include technical data packages and other types of documentation, training, wholesale level support, in-theater management, depot and field level maintenance and integrated supply chain management.

Other key actions taken by the Logistics team include: establishing Regional Support Activities (RSAs) and numerous fielding sites in theater; standing up “MRAP University” to provide vehicle training on operational use and maintenance; developing a formal process for logistics feedback from Field Service Representatives (FSRs) in-theater; and assisting suppliers in expediting parts deliveries.
