Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program: Naval Special Emphasis Program: Corrective Action Request (CAR)

Purpose: Corrective Action Requests (CARs) are issued to the contractor to identify and correct all instances of noncompliance with established methods for processing product, controlling quality systems or violation of contract/purchase order requirements. Prior to issuing a CAR the QAR must ensure that the contractor's Quality Assurance Manager or designated alternate is aware of the issue and is agreeable to taking corrective action to ensure that product quality and integrity is not compromised. CARs shall be documented and issued for all Naval Special Emphasis Programs (NSEP) non-conformances. Before issuing any CARs, the QAR will assure that the condition is a violation of a contract requirement or the contractor's established method and/or procedure.

General Procedure: Each DCMA QAR within the Navy Special Emphasis Organization creates a CAR for suppliers they have been assigned oversight responsibility. The CARs are created on an as-needed basis when a deficiency/non-compliance has been identified. The CARs are then sent to the contractor with copies to other POCs depending on particular situations (specific contracts, CAR Level, NSEP customers, etc.). The contractor can also view and respond to the CAR within PDREP. The CAR program allows for the follow up review of actions taken by the contractor and final closeout of the CAR.

Report Retrieval: To retrieve or review status of CARs, the user selects “Corrective Action Request” under the heading “NSEP PROGRAMS” of the PDREP home page. From this page, PDREP - Corrective Action Request worklist, the user can then select a worklist based on pertinent information such as CAGE Code, QAR Code, etc. The report will be generated when the user selects “Display Worklist”.
