Advise the Secretary of the Navy, Chief of Naval Operations, and Commandant of the Marine Corps on cost and economic issues.
Lead the Department of the Navy cost community in issues of cost
policy and policy implementation.
Develop independent cost estimates and assessments for
Acquisition Category I and IA programs and prepare Service Cost
Positions to inform the Milestone Decision Authority.
Conduct economic analysis and special studies to support
relevant defense issues.
Increase capability and efficiency of the Naval cost estimating community.
Manage the Department's implementation of the Department of
Defense Visibility and Management of Operating and Support Costs
(VAMOSC) Program.
