Plan a Field Trip

We offer a self-guided activity-based program that students can follow at their own speed, individually or in groups. We also offer living history interpretive programs, exhibits, multi-media presentations, and four miles of trails that interpret the Oregon Trail, natural history, and mining history.

Group Reservations

School group visits can be arranged at any time of the year, and are arranged on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please call 541-523-1843 to request a reservation for your classroom, or download our school group request form (PDF) to make your reservation via email, fax, or mail.

Wagons Ho! Exhibit Activity Guide

Make the most out of your time at the Interpretive Center with this Wagons Ho! Exhibit Activity Guide (PDF). Designed for educational groups planning to visit between Presidents Day through Memorial Day, display period of the annual Wagons Ho! kids exhibit. Includes Frequently Asked Questions about our popular kids exhibit; K-6 Benchmarks for Oregon in Social Science, Science, Math, and Language. Explorers Traveling Trunk

If you can't come to the Interpretive Center, the Center will come to you. One of our interpreters is available on a limited basis to travel to your class (within 90 minute drive of Baker City) to present a living history presentation on explorers and fur traders, and the skills they needed to successfully complete their expedition.
