Family Readiness Group

The Family Readiness Group (FRG) is an organization of family members, volunteers, and soldiers/civilian employees belonging to a unit/organization. Together, they provide an avenue of mutual support and assistance and a network of communication among the family members, the chain of command and community resources.

 

FRG provides a forum for discussing family issues, ranging from prevention of spousal abuse to financial assistance. Virtual Family Readiness Group Website Registration Instructions

 

The 229th MI BN Family Readiness Group (FRG) maintains a site on the Army’s Virtual FRG. You can access the VFRG at: http://www.armyfrg.org/skins/frg/home.aspx or by typing “www.armyfrg.org” in your web browser address bar.

 

229th MI BN Soldiers, family members, or other members of the DLIFLC Army team may find this a useful resource. The site requires registration. For Soldiers currently assigned to the 229th MI BN, approval of registration should occur automatically. If you are not currently assigned to 229th MI BN but will report here soon, please register and include your Soldier’s report date with your registration so our administrator can manually approve the registration or contact you for more information.

Below are instructions for registering. If you just need to log in, see the section below this one.
1. When you go to the site, you’ll see this. Click on the “Click Here” or the “Register here” link on the upper right under “Log In or Register”:
2. Next the site will help you find our unit. Navigate to California (Step 1), then scroll down to “The Presidio of Monterey: 229th MI BN (DLI) and click (Step 2):
3. Then enter your information, select if you are a Soldier or Family Member, then click “continue” (Step 3):
4. If your Soldier is in the unit, then your registration will go through and you will get to select a username and password. If you get an error and we will receive a message with the email address you entered and we will contact you to complete your registration.

Logging In Once Registered

• Once you have your login username and password, return to the www.armyfrg.org site and click “click here” under “Login or Register”.
• After logging in, you will have to go to the drop down box in the upper right and select “229th MI Battalion” then click the “View” box in the upper right.
• From there, you go to the 229th MI BN Homepage where you can navigate to calendars, company spaces, and other resources.
• There is also a great deal of good information available on the VFRG Army FRG site.
