WEST NILE VIRUS:
The Clinton County Health Department has been notified that a second bird, collected on October 15, has tested positive for the West Nile Virus. Two birds have tested positive this year. Both birds were collected in October in rural Carlyle, Wade Township.
This year the Clinton County Health Department's mosquito sampling resulted in 221 mosquito batches collected from 20 sites across the county. A total of approximately 11,000 mosquitoes were tested over the last five months with none testing positive for West Nile Virus.
