History
The idea for this series of workshops originated with David Youngs of AWE (UK), with the first workshop organized by LLNL in October 1988 in Princeton, New Jersey (USA). Subsequent workshops have been held approximately every two years in the United States, France, the United Kingdom and Russia. A broad international community has been involved, with participants primarily from academic institutions and national laboratories in the US, UK, France, Russia, China, Israel and other nations.
