Report Helps Prepare New Hampshire for Future Coastal Floods

In confronting damage from recent coastal storms and flooding, New Hampshire’s coastal municipalities found that they needed a plan to get ready for the next wave of flood risks. The report Preparing New Hampshire for Projected Storm Surge, Sea-Level Rise, and Extreme Precipitation helps these communities incorporate projected flood risks into planning, design, construction, and conservation practices. The state’s New Hampshire Coastal Risk and Hazards Commission developed the report. NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management, New Hampshire Coastal Program, and Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve played critical roles in the effort.
