Overview
This online tool displays essential fish habitat, and habitat areas of particular concern, established under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. The maps also include areas where steps have been taken to minimize the impact that fisheries have on essential fish habitat, including anchoring restrictions, required fishing gear modifications, and bans on certain types of gear. Users can query information from multiple fishery management plans at once to view habitat maps and lists of species for a specific location.
