Online Journals: Use the list below to access online journals and serials, by clicking on the title. The Access column indicates whether access is available to full-text (FT articles), abstracts (AB), or tables of contents (TC). Online coverage indicates the range of availability (volumes/years) of FT articles.
For those journal titles labeled with (archive), full-text access is available for back issues, excluding recent issues (the number of unavailable issues may vary by journal).
Similarly, JSTOR is a distinct link. For those titles labeled (JSTOR*) archival content is available. JSTOR typically provides access from volume 1 of a journal - whenever volume 1 appeared - until about 5 years ago. Each individual title link will take you to content for that title. Links in this paragraph will take you to a full list of JSTOR titles.
Information on Current Awareness (Alerting) Services and Bibliographic Databases is available below.
(JSTOR)* is a distinct link and indicates that we have online access to archives via JSTOR.
Current Awareness (Alerting) Services: There are current awareness services that are available to everyone in the NOAA West network. Web of Science, in which you search among ~7,000 scientific journals. You can sign up for e-mail notification based on journal titles or keyword/topical searches. Aquatic Science and Fisheries Abstracts (ASFA) also has an alert service. Any search you do in ASFA can be saved and used to generate a weekly list sent by e-mail of newly received articles retrieved by your search.
Bibliographic Databases: Another angle to consider is to periodically use bibliographic databases such as ASFA, PubMed or Web of Science. All of these allow you to simultaneously scan hundreds to thousands of journal titles. All allow you to limit searches to a range of dates.
