Our Partners

With the number of threats facing our coastal environment, there is simply too much work for any one organization to tackle alone. We understand that achieving success depends on long-term partnerships-relationships that set examples for others to invest in our planet’s future.

This critical support system has an extraordinary impact on our work to protect and restore habitat and the many thousands of species that call it home. Together, we are more uniquely positioned to succeed.

Restore America's Estuaries

Restore America's Estuaries, a coalition of community-based conservation organizations, is a leader in national efforts to protect, conserve, and restore our nation’s estuaries. Its mission is to preserve the nation's network of estuaries by protecting and restoring the lands and waters essential to the richness and diversity of coastal life.

Since 2000, Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE) has been working with NOAA’s Restoration Center to preserve the nation's network of estuaries by protecting and restoring the lands and waters essential to the richness and diversity of life. The partnership has resulted in more than 4,000 acres restored, 2,500 acres protected, and 170 stream miles opened to fish passage.

RAE recently launched an initiative to help coastal wetlands restoration and protection projects issue carbon credits on the international voluntary carbon market. RAE will help develop requirements for quantifying and crediting the greenhouse gas benefits of several types of wetlands conservation projects. The goal is to make these projects more attractive to investors, which would create additional funding for these much-needed projects.
