Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

This site makes use of "Cascading Style Sheets" and tables for its pages.
Our pages are tested in a range of browsers to make sure that content is displayed in a user-friendly manner. This means that no matter which browser you use, you should see all the information (pages may display differently in earlier browser versions).

Printing

We use "Cascading Style Sheets" to directly send a "printer-friendly" version of our pages to the printer  whenever you use the Print button of your browser.

The "printer-friendly" version of the page consists only of the main content (text and images) as well as important information as the D&D contact coordinates, the URL of the page, the date. Navigation elements and the right-side banner content are not printed.

When you use the standard Print function of your browser (by clicking the Print button or using the key combination Strg+P or CTRL+P) you will automatically pass to the printer this simplified version of the page you want to print.

IMPORTANT
This feature is supported only by the most recent browser versions.
If this does not work for you, we suggest you to try to get a newer version of your browser.
Should there be problems with printing the D&D pages also with newer browser versions, please let us know.

PDF Documents

A number of documents on this site are in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format.
These documents are usually followed by the PDF iconicon:
in order to view them you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader software distributed free of charge on the
link opens in new browser window Adobe web site.

On most browsers, the Adobe Acrobat Reader can be configured as a Plug-in or Helper Application that will directly open pdf files for viewing and/or printing. If you want to download pdf files of this web site to your hard disk and open them separately with the Adobe Acrobat Reader do the following:

  • Netscape/Windows: hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the link
  • Internet Explorer/Windows: RIGHT CLICK on the link and choose "Save target as..."
  • Netscape/Macintosh: hold down the OPTION key when you click on the link
  • For other Browser/Operating System combinations, see the browser instructions or help files.
Problems with viewing PDF files

If you have difficulty viewing a PDF file, you may need to upgrade or update to the latest version of Adobe Reader (see above).

Some PDF files are large and may take a long time to download if you try to view them within your web browser. If PDFs take too long to view them within the browser or if you experience problems viewing a file, save the PDF document to your hard disk and then try to open it in Adobe Acrobat or Reader, rather than through your browser. To achieve this, please follow these steps:

  1. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac OS) on the link for the PDF file you need.
  2. Choose Save Target As (Internet Explorer) or Save Link Target As (Netscape).
  3. In the Save As dialog box, save the file on the Desktop or in a folder where you will be able to find it again.
  4. After the file download is complete, start Adobe Acrobat or Reader.
  5. Open the PDF file you saved to your computer.

For more information about PDF files that don't appear in your web browser window, please see also:
"PDF pages don't appear in web browser window (Acrobat 7.0 and 3D, Adobe Reader 7.0-8.0, and Acrobat 8)", a support document on Adobe's website.

Problems with printing PDF Files

If you can open and view a PDF file, but experience problems with printing it, please try the following:

  1. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac OS) on the link for the PDF file you need.
