FY2016 Preparedness Grants Program Information

• Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) - The FY 2016 HSGP plays an important role in the implementation of Presidential Policy Directive-8 (PPD-8) by supporting the development and sustainment of core capabilities to fulfill the National Preparedness Goal (NPG). The following are descriptions of each HSGP component programs. HSGP is comprised of three interconnected grant programs:

Hazard Mitigation

FWS Coastal Program

• $14 million
• Applications Due: September 30, 2017

• Eligible Entities: State, local, and tribal governments

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) announced funding to provide direct technical assistance and financial assistance to coastal communities and landowners to restore and protect fish and wildlife habitat on public and private lands. Projects should specify benefits for species and habitats considering the expected effects of climate change. FWS will favor conservation activities and projects that incorporate ecosystem adaptation and help coastal ecosystems and communities adapt to the effects of sea level rise and greenhouse gases.
