Inventory Reports and Methods

2009 U.S. Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report: Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks: 1990-2007 (April 2009)
Environmental Protection Agency
This report summarizes the latest information on U.S. anthropogenic greenhouse gas emission trends from 1990 through 2007.
Climate Analysis Indicators Tool
World Resources Institute
The World Resources Institute has developed a Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (CAIT), to which users can subscribe and examine international emissions. CAIT contains many other data sets, including data from the UNFCCC, EPA and IEA. The Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (CAIT) is an information and analysis tool on global climate change developed by the World Resources Institute. CAIT provides a comprehensive and comparable database of greenhouse gas emissions data (including all major sources and sinks) and other climate-relevant indicators.
The Climate Registry
The Climate Registry
The Climate Registry is a nonprofit partnership seeking to develop an accurate, complete, consistent, and transparent GHG emissions measurement protocol for all of North America.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions from the U.S. Transportation Sector 1990-2003 (PDF 1.2mb)
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
This report was developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) to help transportation agencies, the transportation industry, researchers, and the public better understand the connection between transportation and GHG emissions in the United States.
IPCC 2006 Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
These 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories build on the previous Revised 1996 IPCC Guidelines and the subsequent Good Practice reports in an evolutionary manner to ensure that moving from the previous guidelines to these new guidelines is as straightforward as possible. These new guidelines cover new sources and gases as well as updates to previously published methods where technical and scientific knowledge have improved.
National Household Travel Survey: The "Carbon Footprint" of Daily Travel (PDF 29kb)
Federal Highway Administration
Household travel accounts for the vast majority (over 80 percent) of miles traveled on our nation's roadways and three-quarters of the CO2 emissions from 'on-road' sources. The 'carbon footprint' of daily travel for an individual household is based the types of vehicles that household owns, the fuel efficiency, and the number of miles traveled.
UNFCCC Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
This webpage provides access to most recent data on national GHG emissions and removals for countries that are Parties to the Climate Change Convention, countries that are Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, and organizations that have information on GHG emissions/removals.
U.S. Greenhouse Gas Inventory Reports
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
This webpage provides links to the most recent U.S. greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory report, which estimates the anthropogenic GHG emissions and sinks for the years 1990 through 2006. This inventory provides a common and consistent mechanism for estimating emissions and comparing the relative contribution of individual sources, gases, and nations to climate change. Includes link to entire Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks: 1990-2006 Report (PDF 14.51mb), updated April 2008.

Annual Energy Outlook 2008 with Projections to 2030
Energy Information Administration
The Annual Energy Outlook presents a projection and analysis of U.S. energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030, based on results from the Energy Information Administration's National Energy Modeling System. This particular revision includes the impact of H.R.6, "Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007" that was enacted in late December, 2007.
Forecasts & Analyses
Energy Information Administration
This webpage provides U.S. data projections related to energy prices and supply and demand, as well as international data projections related to energy consumption.
