Dear JRRD Readership,
JRRD, housed within the Rehabilitation Research and Development Service (RR&D), is being phased out. As part of that process, the final print edition of JRRD will occur September 2016 and manuscript submissions are no longer being accepted.
It was important to RR&D to find a new venue where the rehabilitation community can convene and publish rehabilitation research that addresses Veterans healthcare issues. To this end, JRRD/RR&D fortunately entered into conversations with PLOS – open access publisher of 7 biomedical journals – and found in PLOS a like-minded organization interested in continuing the JRRD Veteran-centric mission. Hence, PLOS is the new venue and represents the future of Veteran-centric rehabilitation research. We recommend that you consider submitting your manuscript to PLOS.
PLOS has been developing a publishing venue called PLOS Channels, specifically designed as an ingathering place for research communities such as rehabilitation. Both PLOS and JRRD/RR&D recognized the value of Channels to maintain a high quality venue dedicated to Veteran-centric rehabilitation research. PLOS is excited to start seeing your research submitted to the Channel. Please go to (www.plos.org/jrrd) for detailed information. Should you have any questions about PLOS Channels, please contact channels@plos.org.
