Obama's Climate Plan Restricts Power Plant Emissions

President Barack Obama’s climate plan will restrict carbon emissions from existing coal-fired power plants and make up to $8 million available in loan guarantees for energy-efficiency and clean-technology projects for fossil fuel plants.

Underground Storage Tanks

EPA Set to Finalize Changes to UST Regulations

In November 2011, EPA proposed significant rule revisions to the 1988 federal underground storage tank (USTs) regulations by increasing emphasis on properly operating and maintaining UST equipment. These revisions include adding secondary containment for new and replaced tanks and piping, operating training, inspections and testing, release prevention and detection technologies, as well as updating codes of practice, and fuel storage compatibility.

Intermountain Sustainability Summit

The Summit is being held March 6-7, 2014, at Weber State University in Ogden. This year's Summit will have 5 tracks: Energy, Air, Waste and Recycling, Green Building, and Sustainability in Higher Education Tracks. The conference with the 5 tracks will be held on Thursday, March 6. Professional workshops will be held on Friday, March 7.
