Mission Statement

The agency's mission for EEO is to provide a comprehensive and results-oriented Equal Opportunity Program for internal/external customers that is in full compliance with Federal laws, Executive Orders and agency directives, and is integrated into the everyday business of the United States Mint.

Vision

The vision for the United States Mint's EEO Program is an agency that reflects the rich diversity of the Nation and provides a full and fair opportunity for all employees, applicants and customers regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, parental status, or genetic information.

Equal Employment Opportunity

The EEO Program is administered by the Diversity Management and Civil Rights (DMCR) Office which is located under the Chief Administrative Officer, Office of the Director. The DMCR Office is responsible for providing guidance to all United States Mint employees on the implementation of new initiatives as well as enforcing the statutory regulations that govern Title VI and Title VII. Responsibilities include EEO Counseling and Discrimination Complaint processing, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment.

• Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs) are affirmative action programs established to increase the representation, retention, and advancement of minorities, women, persons with disabilities and disabled veterans in under-represented occupations and grades. The United States Mint has six SEPs designed to assist the organization in meeting its affirmative action responsibilities and to address the unique concerns of these respective groups.
