12/14/12: OCRCFL Sponsors National Academy of Sciences Event

The Orange County Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory partnered with the FBI, Los Angeles Division and the National Academy of Sciences, to co-sponsor a Distinctive Voices event on December 14, 2012 at the Beckman Center, Irvine, CA. The half-day program, entitled Digital Forensics in the 21st Century, featured presentations, case studies, and hands-on demonstrations of technology and methods by OCRCFL examiners, as well as tours of the FBI's state-of-the-art mobile laboratory. More than 280 people attended the program.

The National Academy of Sciences is a private, non-profit society of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific and engineering research, dedicated to the furtherance of science and technology and to their use for the public good. The NAS' Communication Initiative created the Distinctive Voices in 2006 as a program to increase science literacy. Live programs are held at the Beckman Center, Irvine, California and at Jonsson Center in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and highlight innovations, discoveries, and emerging issues in an exciting and engaging public forum. Today's program was the second in a two-part series on Cyber Forensics.
