Wish-List of Enhancements to AMDTreat v5

The AMDTreat Development Team is currently scoping out a project to further enhance the successful AMDTreat computer cost modeling program. This enhancement will be labeled AMDTreat Version 5. The current plan is for AMDTreat V5 to include the following:

  • Enhancing the flexibility of the AMDTreat Financial Forecasting tool by including a second method of calculating Investment Volatility; and

  • Incorporating the geochemical modeling capabilities of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) PHREEQ computer program into AMDTreat.  PHREEQ is a computer program for speciation, batch-reaction, one-dimensional transport, and inverse geochemical calculations and will be used to model field titrations. Currently, AMDTreat requires costly and time consuming field titrations to accurately calculate costs associated with treating net alkaline discharges and discharges with elevated manganese levels. This proposed enhancement will model the field titrations, thus eliminating the need to perform field titrations to estimate treatment costs for these types of discharges. Incorporating PHREEQ into AMDTreat is a major enhancement and is being encoded by David Parkhurst of the USGS; the original developer of PHREEQ.

If you have any additional suggested enhancements that you would like incorporated into AMDTreat V5 please contact us.
