Interstate 10: Live Oak Canyon Road Interchange
SANBAG and the City of Yucaipa worked cooperatively to widen and realign the Interstate 10 Live Oak Canyon Road interchange in Yucaipa. This project included reconstructing the road between Calimesa Boulevard and Outer Highway South and replacing the current two-lane bridge with a new five-lane bridge. Eastbound and westbound ramps also were widened and realigned, and traffic signals were installed.

An early portion of this project – the construction of a new bridge at 14th Street – was completed in 2002. This early project, which cost $1.3 million, helped improve access through the area. The entire interchange project, including the 14th Street bridge early project, cost approximately $22.2 million.
Construction of the interchange began in September, 2007 and was completed in May 2009.
The project was funded by the state’s Traffic Congestion Relief Program and the City of Yucaipa, which advanced funds that will be repaid from Measure I 2010-2040 revenue. The project was comlpeted on time and within budget.
