DRE Training in Dutchess County at an
alcohol workshop.
The following courses are offered through the year. Descriptions include course prerequisites and requirements.
- DRE Certification
- DRE 8-Hour Annual Recertification - All DREs must attend an annual recertification class to maintain their certification. DREs must bring their equipment with them and be prepared to perform a full 12-Step Evaluation. They must also take a re-certification test and get a grade of 80% or higher.
- Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) Training
- Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE)
- Pharmaceutical Diversion Training

Drug Recognition Expert Training (DRE) - Phase 1 Ontario County Safety Training Facility, 2914 County Road 48, Canandaigua, New York 14424 Students who successfully complete Phase 1 will be sent to Jacksonville, FL for Phase 2 in mid-March 2017 for Field Certification Training. See course the description and requirements to participate in the 2017 DRE Course Announcement (pdf). The DRE School application must be received by November 9, 2016.
