Two post-deployment phases of the 2nd Calvary Regiment Behavior Health Leadership study were completed in 2014. The goal of the study is to 1) assess the relationship between 2CR's resilience initiatives (Dragoon Total Fitness) and behavioral health outcomes; 2) design new behavioral health leadership measures to identify specific leader behaviors that promote behavioral health outcomes over time; 3) validate self-reported sleep estimates and Actigraph sleep watch results, linking sleep results to well-being over time. The results of the 2CR study are particularly important because they help inform a response to a directive from the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act requesting evidence of the efficacy of Army resilience training.
