Permanent Disability Retired List (PDRL)

If your disability is found to be permanent and is rated at 30 percent or greater by the U.S. Army Physical Disability Agency’s (USAPDA’s) Physical Evaluation Board (PEB, or you have 20 or more years of service, you will be placed on the Permanent Disability Retired List (PDRL).

Service members who are on the PDRL are entitled to disability retirement pay from the Department of Defense (DoD). Disability retired pay is based on the larger of two formulas, one that is based on your disability percentage (often referred to as Method A), and the other based on years of active service (often referred to as Method B). Pay is computed based on whichever formula is most beneficial for you:

• Method A: Multiply your retired pay base by the percentage of the disability rating; or
• Method B: Multiply your retired pay base by 2.5 percent of the number of years of service, up to a 75 percent ceiling

If you have been transferred from the Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) to the PDRL, your retired pay will be recalculated using your most current disability rating.
