The National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) - Formerly known as the Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey (NPTS) and the American Travel Survey (ATS), the NHTS is a household-based travel survey conducted every five years by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Survey data are collected from a sample of U.S. households and expanded to provide national estimates of trips and miles by travel mode, purpose, and a host of other characteristics. Biomass Energy Data Book: Edition 4 - This data book draws together, under one cover, biomass data from diverse sources to produce a comprehensive document that supports anyone with an interest or a stake in the biomass industry. Contained in this book are statistics and information that characterize the biomass industry, from the production of biomass feedstocks to their end use. CTA Transportation Networks - The CTA Transportation Networks are geographically based link-node networks of major roadways and all active railroads in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. While intended primarily for network analyses (such as routing, traffic assignment, investment, and reliability analyses), the geographic base also supports cartographic applications and the association of auxiliary data that also has a geographic base. ITS Deployment Tracking Website - This website tracks the progress of ITS technology deployment by focusing on key infrastructure components, specifically those indicative of deployment levels and the extent of integration between agencies that operate the infrastructure. ITS Technology Overview - This website provides one-stop shopping access to data on 176 individual ITS application areas. Links are provided to USDOT knowledge resources covering benefits, costs, deployment, lessons learned, initiatives, documents, and additional DOT resources for each technology. Technologies are accessed according to an ITS Taxonomy consisting of 13 major application areas related to the intelligent infrastructure and 3 major application areas tied to intelligent vehicles.
