For Legal Practitioners
For Attorneys, BIA Accredited Representatives, Law Students and Paralegals
The State government is providing Deferred Action eligible youth with an alternative to fraudulent immigration services (e.g. notaries). Along with assistance coordinated by partner immigrant and legal services providers, the State government is coordinating bar associations to expand access to pro bono attorneys who can help young people as they prepare applications for Deferred Action. The State government also will have a team of experienced immigration lawyers who will provide immigration law consultations to young people and legal technical assistance to immigrant service providers across our state.
Duly licensed attorneys and BIA Accredited Representatives interested in being trained and volunteering to assist Deferred Action eligible youth should join our NYS Deferred Action - ProBono Group on LinkedIn. We will provide group members with information regarding upcoming trainings and volunteer opportunities.
Law Students and Paralegals interested in being trained and volunteering to assist Deferred Action eligible youth should join our NYS Deferred Action – Law Student Group on LinkedIn. We will provide group members with information regarding upcoming trainings and volunteer opportunities.
