NYC Immigrant Services Manual – Guide to Public Benefits for Immigrants
We must ensure that newcomers have the same opportunity to receive assistance as all residents. This starts with education in the community and by ensuring that service providers are aware of the services their clients may be eligible for. To that end, the New York State Office for New Americans joined the Fund for Public Advocacy, the New York Immigration Coalition, the New York City Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Affairs and others to launch the Guide to Public Benefits for New York City Immigrants.
The services highlighted range from Financial Assistance Programs, Food and Nutrition Programs to Programs for Children and Tax Credit Programs. A brief program description, explanation of who qualifies and how to qualify, a glossary of terms, and corresponding contact information and office locations are included.
Visit the Guide to Public Benefits for New York City Immigrants web site to view the guides. The Guide is available online and in print in eight languages (Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian and Spanish).
