House Bill 759 created the Task Force on Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention within the Mississippi Department of Health during the 2001 Legislative session. Senate Bill 2314 revised the membership of the Task Force on Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and clarified the reporting requirement of the Task Force.
Task Force Goals
- Increase physical activity
- Decrease obesity and improper nutrition
- Decrease high blood pressure
- Decrease elevated cholesterol
- Decrease stroke
About the Task Force
Task Force members represent state agencies, private organizations, and industry representatives appointed by the Legislature.
All meetings are open to the public and offer an opportunity for public comment.
