Help Getting Started

Welcome to the USDA Economics, Statistics and Market Information System (ESMIS). On this website, you will find more than 2,500 reports and datasets from several agencies of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Several options are available for finding reports and datasets of interest:

By Agency: From the dropdown menu on the top navigation bar, select your agency of interest. All titles that have been issued by the selected agency will be shown.

By Subject: From the dropdown menu on the top navigation bar, select your subject of interest. All titles that have been categorized with that subject will be displayed. Sometimes, you can refine your selection further by also selecting a sub-category. After selecting "Speciality Agriculture," for example, you can also select "Aquaculture."

By Release Date: From the dropdown menu on the top navigation bar, select a past or future date to see what reports have been, or are scheduled to be, released on a given day.

Search: Find reports or datasets by using the "Quick Search" or "Advanced Search" options on the left side of the page. After submitting your keyword query, all reports and datasets containing the search terms will be returned, sorted alphabetically by title.
