Improving Permanency & Inclusion For Our Youth
These regional trainings bring together judicial officers, court professionals, social workers, attorneys, probation officers, educators and others working with families and children coming to court. The trainings are funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies. The October 2014 training is the result of a collaborative effort between the Center for Families, Children & the Courts and the California Bay Area Academy.
Day One: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Day one topics to include an overview of current legal information related to extended foster care and non minor dependents, decision making, concurrent planning, and permanency.

Day Two: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Day two topics to focus on system competency around working with LGBTQ youth. Protective factors, standards, guidelines, and effective practices are among the topics that will be covered, in addition to a special presentation of the award winning documentary "Valentine Road."
