Academics

In addition to career training, Flint Hills Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top priorities at Flint Hills Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains their high school diploma or high school equivelancy (GED) prior to leaving the center. Students who do not posess a high school diploma upon arrival will be enrolled in one of three options:  USD 383 - Manhattan High, GED, or the Penn Foster online high school program. Students will be evaluated to see which option is best for their success.

Students may also participate in our high school diploma program which is administered by the Manhattan Alternative High School. Our high school diploma program features self-paced, computer-based classes monitored by certified high school instructors.
