Benefits

Pay and Allowances

Job Corps pays each student a living allowance twice a month while in the program. But just like a real job, taxes are deducted from this allowance.

Housing

Our center can house 120 male students and 120 female students in several dormitories. Each dormitory has bathroom and shower facilities, laundry facilities, TV rooms, lounges, and vending machines.

Meals

Our students are provided three nutritious meals each day at no cost in one of the best cafeteria facilities in Job Corps.

Wellness Center

The wellness center is open daily for basic medical, dental, and optometrist services which are provided free to our students. The wellness center also provides 24-hour emergency medical services. Weight management, smoking cessation, pregnancy prevention, and other health-related programs are also available.

Childcare

Single Parent Program building and sign

Flint Hills Job Corps offers facilities and programs for single parents and their dependent children. This allows students to participate in Job Corps without having to be separated from their children.

Single Parent Dormitory

The Single Parent Dormitory provides housing for up to 36 single parents with one or two children, ranging from six weeks to six years in age. Parents in the Single Parent Dormitory are provided with activities to develop good parenting skills. While the parents are in training during the day, the children are cared for in the Child Development Center.

Child Development Center

The Child Development Center is staffed by teachers who are trained to work with young children. The Child Development Center provides a safe, nurturing, caring and educational environment for the children of our students.
