The JVTMC is modeled after the DoD Health Affairs standard of a Patient Centered Medical Home with the goal of providing support to all 11th ACR Soldiers with acute, well patient, and follow-up appointments each day.
The facility is a scheduled appointment clinic. Walking in requesting to see a provider is not tolerated, except in emergency situations of Life & Limb, or eyesight.
Hours vary to provide maximum coverage for patients. Please check hours (left) prior to visiting the clinic.
Sick call:
Soldiers must report to sick call between the hours of 5:30 and 6:15 a.m. in order to receive a same day sick call/acute appointment. When Soldiers report to sick call they need to have a DD Form 689 (sick call slip) signed by their 1st Sgt.
Sick call is only for conditions that have been going on for 72 hours or less. For issues that have been going on longer than 72 hours Soldiers will be told to make an appointment after 11:00 a.m.
During rotational weekends sick call is from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
Medication refills and other inquiries:
SM can request a medication refill by calling in or coming into the clinic after 11:00 a.m. only if the medication is not a controlled substance, narcotic, or behavior health medication. Telephone consults (t-cons) will be put through by the front desk for medication refills and are also available as additional route for obtaining lab/radiology results and other services. When requesting a medication the Soldier must know the name of the medication and the dosage. All controlled substances, narcotics, and behavior health medications will be refilled by appointment only.
Immunizations:
Standard immunizations and HIV blood draws are done as walk-ins between 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.
Please note:
The clinic is closed from noon to 1:00 p.m. for lunch everyday but in order to provide the most coverage possible there will always be someone to answer the phone at the front desk until 5:00 p.m.
The Javier Villanueva Troop Medical Clinic is named after Specialist Javier A. Villanueva of Temple, Texas. Villanueva joined the Army Sept. 16, 2003, and served as a medical specialist stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, at Fort. Sam Houston in San Antonio Texas and at Fort Irwin in California. Specialist Villanueva was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, when he died on Nov. 24, 2005 in Asad, Iraq, of injuries sustained the previous day, Nov. 23, when he was killed in action by an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol during combat operations in Hit, Iraq.
